Monsters Ultra Action Playsets Series One: The Monsters Playsets debuted in the spring of 1997. There are four playsets in Series One: They are Frankestein, Dracula, The Werewolf and The Hunchback. McFarlane Toys set out to make new mini drama playsets and succeeded in a big way. These sets are impresses and high in detail even though the figures are only three to four inches tall. Each playset comes with two figures, tons of accessories, parts and realistic sets. These playsets are straight from history's most favorite villains and monsters and bring to life in a way never before thought of and imagined.

Hunchback: Hunchback is the fourth and last figure of Series One. The Hunchback is wearing a brown coat with green pants. The Executioner is wearing an all black outfit with a black hood. The playset comes with a bell tower with a bell that has a real string pulley with a gargoyle on top and a large ax for the Executioner that has blood all over it. The package is large with a yellow cardboard back with the name of the figure on the right side horizontally. The figure sits in a plastic mold with a plastic bubble over it. On the plastic bubble is a cardboard picture of the playset and what it looks like assembled with the word "MONSTERS" horizontally down the front. Monsters Ultra Action Playsets Series Two: The Monsters Playsets Series Two debuted in the spring of 1998. There are four playsets in Series Two: They are The Mummy, Dr. Frankenstein, The Sea Creature and The Phantom of the Opera. Mcfarlane Toys again sets out to make the best in quality and detail and succeeds. The Monsters Series Two are bigger, better and have more detail then series one. To appreciate these marvels you must open them and put them together, the Dr Frankenstein playset actually combines with the series one Frankenstein to make a BI-level playset

The playset comes with two figures, Dr Frankenstein and the Monster. Dr Frankenstein is wearing a blood stain white coat with a metal glove and goggles. This figure is modeled after the creator of the Monsters playsets. The Monster has two heads, has two back bones and has his rib cage and left leg bone showing. He is wearing bloody gray bandages. The playset comes with a operating table, large blue lightning bolt, saw, syringe, test tubes, guts and large scissors. The playset combines with the Frankenstein playset from series one making a BI-level playset. The package is large with a dark brown cardboard back with the name of the figure on the top. Dr Frankenstein

 The playset comes with two figures, The Hero and the Phantom. The Hero is wearing a blue coat, white shirt, gray pants with brown gloves and shoes. The Phantom is wearing a real cloth purple cape with a golden neckpiece, purple vest black coat and black pants. He is also wearing a sword sheath. The Playset comes with chandelier with real golden chain that attaches to a large plank that lets it swing and drop, a balcony with a real red cloth curtain and gold base, and a highly detailed pipe organ with keys and seat, two swords and two masks. The package is large with a dark brown cardboard back with the name of the figure on the top. The figure sits in a plastic mold with a plastic bubble over it. Phantom of the Opera
The playset comes with two figures the Mummy and Anubis. The Mummy has dark brown skin with dirty gray bandages wearing a gold belt with red, black and turquoise Egyptian writing on it. Anubis is a desert sand color statue with a cat head with a gold and blue Vail. The playset comes with a two headed snake, a highly detailed gold, blue, red and black sarcophagus, wooden trap door, two piece stone colored base, tow vases and two staffs. The Mummy

 The Playset comes with two figures, The Diver and the Sea Creature. The Diver is wearing a light gray suit with black highlight and golden boots. He has glued on hair and two left arms. They are detachable and one is normal and the other is half eaten. The Sea Creature has two tone green skin. The playset comes with a half of a boat, Harpoon gun with shooting harpoon, three planks, two wooden two by fours, greenish plastic water, a knife, helmet and a sandy base with bones and dabry.The package is large with a dark brown cardboard back with the name of the figure on the top. Sea Creature
