Alex Elder has a few more problems on his hands than most teenagers. First, he was turned into a creature of the night when a gang of vampires killed his friends and bit him. Second, it appears he may be the "Chosen One," something he has no desire to be. One of Alex's only friend in his new stage in life is Joe, the Indian. Joe takes pride in both of his heritages, Indian and vampire. With his tribal war paint and wicked sense of humor he may seem a difficult person to call friend, but when Alex needs him he's there!
